DIGITAL LEVEL CONTROL SET TO
REPLACE MECHANICAL FLOAT SWITCHES
Metropolitan Industries is pleased to
announce the launch of the world’s first digital level
controller for use with residential sump and sewage pumps
eliminating moving parts associated with 98% of mechanical
switch failures.
Under development for several years, the
patent-pending Ion Digital Level Controller will replace
unreliable mechanical float switches using solid-state
sensing computer technology. This eliminates contact points
and moving parts, making it superior to conventional switch
technology.
The problem was never the pump because they
are generally built to last. The problem has always been the
switch responsible for the critical task of turning the pump
on and off. Outdated switches use moving parts and wear and
tear in a sump pit environment will always break those
components down over time.
With the Digital Ion Level Controller, wear
and tear is not an issue and the controller will outlive the
pump. Sellers can rest assured and say goodbye to irate
customers and lawsuits because a cheaply made $50 switch
failed causing flooding to a home. With the Ion Digital
Level Controller, smart computer technology replaces moving
parts for the ultimate in protection.
“We feel the Ion Digital Level Controller
will transform the plumbing industry much the way battery
back up systems did in the 1980s,” says John Kochan, Jr.,
Metropolitan Industries President who developed the idea for
the new product by utilizing solid state components and
applying them to switch technology.
“The key was to figure a way to eliminate
moving parts in a float switch, which has always been the
problem,” Kochan says.
Other features on the Ion Digital Level
Controller include a leak resistant and extremely durable
proprietary enclosure that eliminates the chance for water
to penetrate the inside of the controller. Also, multiple
stainless steel screws supply optimal pressure ensuring
superior sealing properties adding to its durability.
The Ion Digital Level Controller uses a
multipoint sealing mechanism that supersedes single surface
seals used in antiquated float switches. The Ion is also
inverter rated for use with any battery back up system.
Metropolitan Industries is stocking a large
supply of these switches and can deliver next day in most
cases.
